Citizen
After your registration with AgeOfCitizens you become a citizen of the country you chose during the registration process. Information about each citizen is listed below:
  • Level: After the registration, citizens will have level equal to 1. There is no upper limit. Citizens are gaining level according to experience, which they gain from in-game acts. The experience limit for level increase is calculated by the formula: Level * Level * 150.
  • Health: After the registration, citizens will have health equal to 100 units with an upper limit of 100 units. In every level change the upper health limit will be risen by 30 units with maximum allowable limit of 1000. Citizens increase their health by 10 units every 10 minutes, unless it is full.
  • Energy: After the registration citizens will have energy equal to 100 units with an upper limit of 100 units. In every level change the upper energy limit will be risen by 30 units with maximum allowable limit of 1000. Citizens increase their energy by 10 units every 10 minutes, unless it is full.
  • Strength: After the registration, citizens will have strength equal to 0 with an upper limit of 1000 units. At the end of the day if strength is above 100, the citizen will lose 1% of strength.
  • Knowledge: After the registration citizens will have knowledge equal to 0 with an upper limit of 1000 units. At the end of the day if knowledge is above 100, the citizen will lose 1% of knowledge.
  • Currency: After the registration citizens will have currency equal to 100 units.
  • Gold: After the registration citizens will have gold equal to 20 units.
Citizen Classes
There are six different citizen classes plus the default starting class. Each class gives certain bonuses to your citizen. You can change class as often as you want. Each class change costs 5 gold.
  • Citizen: Default, no bonuses.
  • Soldier: Bonus 1: 15% bonus damage when fighting against a single opponent in a country war. Bonus 2: strength protection below 500.
  • Scientist: Bonus 1: 10% bonus damage when using a hydrogen bomb. Bonus 2: knowledge protection below 800.
  • Bandit: Bonus 1: 10% discount in AoC market except casino chips. Bonus 2: knowledge protection below 500.
  • Worker: Bonus 1: 10 more items in auto production per factory with no extra cost. Bonus 2: 10% bonus in freelance salary.
  • Politician: Bonus 1: 50% off extending party life. Bonus 2: knowledge protection below 800.
  • Gambler: Bonus 1: 2 extra casino chips per day. Bonus 2: 0.50 currency discount buying casino chips from AoC market.
Factories
There are 2 kinds of factories, food factories and weapon factories. Every citizen can own 10 of a kind. Every factory can produce 10 kinds of products depending on its level. All the factories are starting from level 1 and they can reach level 10. For every product unit every citizen has to spend 0.1 currency as an expense for raw material.
Every factory has its own fund. Factories should have enough money to pay their employees and to produce. Every factory automatically produces 20 product units each day, if it has enough money for the raw materials. Up to 10 employees can work in each factory. Every employee during his work produce 5 units of the product. Employees can work one time every 8 hours.
Factory construction price is 10 gold.
For the factory upgrade to the next level is necessary the production of 1000 product units. Upgrade prices to next levels are listed below:
  • Level 1 upgrade to level 2: 20 gold
  • Level 2 upgrade to level 3: 30 gold
  • Level 3 upgrade to level 4: 50 gold
  • Level 4 upgrade to level 5: 70 gold
  • Level 5 upgrade to level 6: 100 gold
  • Level 6 upgrade to level 7: 140 gold
  • Level 7 upgrade to level 8: 200 gold
  • Level 8 upgrade to level 9: 260 gold
  • Level 9 upgrade to level 10: 320 gold
Jobs
In jobs section each citizen can select a job from a list of the fifty (50) most profitable jobs. Each citizen can work once every eight (8) hours and get paid for his work. At any time a citizen can quit current job and select a new one from the job list. If there aren't any jobs available to choose, the citizen can work as freelancer. This is essential to ensure citizen's income. Working as a freelancer does not have effect in daily missions or achievements.
Training Ground
Every citizen has the opportunity to train once every 12 hours in order to increase strength. Every training session offers 1 strength point.
You have the ability to upgrade your training field to 3 potential levels in which the citizen gains more strength points for each training session. Training fields upgrades are listed below:
  • Level 1: Citizen gains 3 strength points for each training session. Upgrade cost: 5 gold. Duration: 1 month.
  • Level 2: Citizen gains 6 strength points for each training session. Upgrade cost: 10 gold. Duration: 1 month.
  • Level 3: Citizen gains 10 strength points for each training session. Upgrade cost: 15 gold. Duration: 1 month.
Inventory
Special items
  • Magazine: After use knowledge increases by 1 unit. Even if bought, it can not be used if the knowledge has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Newspaper: After use knowledge increases by 3 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the knowledge has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Book: After use knowledge increases by 5 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the knowledge has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Encyclopedia: After use knowledge increases by 10 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the knowledge has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Vitamin C: After use strength increases by 1 unit. Even if bought, it can not be used if the strength has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Protein: After use strength increases by 3 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the strength has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Testosterone: After use strength increases by 5 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the strength has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Creatine: After use strength increases by 10 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the strength has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Health Kit: After use health restores 100%.
  • Painkiller: After use health increases by 50 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the health has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Penicillin: After use health increases by 100 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the health has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Adrenaline: After use health increases by 200 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the health has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Atropine: After use health increases by 400 units. Even if bought, it can not be used if the health has reached the maximum possible level.
  • Marijuana: After use increases by 10% the maximum level of health and energy. The effect lasts for 24 hours.
  • Crystal Meth: After use increases by 30% the maximum level of health and energy. The effect lasts for 24 hours.
  • Heroin: After use increases by 50% the maximum level of health and energy. The effect lasts for 24 hours.
  • Cocaine: After use increases by 100% the maximum level of health and energy. The effect lasts for 24 hours.
  • Energy Kit: After use energy restores 100%.
Special Weapons
Hydrogen Bomb: This is a special weapon which consists of six elements (Deuterium, Tritium, Plutonium, Beryllium, Neutron Generator, Uranium Shell). Once collected all six elements Hydrogen Bomb can be created. You can collect Hydrogen Bomb elements by defeating opponents in battle. Hydrogen Bomb elements can also be bought from the AoC Market.
Body Armor: This is a special weapon which consists of six elements (Helmet, Vest, Pants, Boots, Jacket, Gloves). Once collected all six elements Body Armor can be created. You can collect Body Armor elements by defeating opponents in battle. Body Armor elements can also be bought from the AoC Market.
Markets
Market Types
  • Country Market where trades are made with currency between citizens of the same country. You can sell and buy all food and weapon items.
  • AoC Market where you can buy special items and special weapon elements paying with gold.
  • Exchange Market where you can exchange currency to gold and vice versa.
Country
Political Parties
Every citizen has the opportunity to establish his own political party. The cost is 20 gold. Immediately after the establishment of the political party the founder is characterized as the president of the political party. It is his duty to choose the four other members of the political party to create the Bureau of the Political Party. If any of these four members left the Bureau, the president has the right to select another citizen to replace the one who retired. Each political party can last up to the second election since its founding date. The party president can extend the lifetime of his political party at any time, at the price of 10 gold.
Government
The first day of each calendar month elections will take place in each country. All political parties of the country take part in elections. All citizens of the country can vote for the political party of their choice. The political party which receives the most votes nominates government. The president of the political party automatically becomes governor of the country and governs the country for one month together with the four members of the Bureau of his political party which now qualify as members of the government. The governor and four members of the government are mutually equal and have the same jurisdiction in the governance of the country.
The governor and the four members are equally responsible for each decision about the country's future. The decisions include:
  • Declare wars to claim a city.
  • Buy weapons and keep stash for the country's defense.
  • Make alliances with other counties.
  • And of course, notify citizens to be prepared for the upcoming wars in order to build a strong attack or defense to win the war.
Country Ranking
All countries start with 1000 ranking points. Countries earn or lose ranking points after each war according to the following rules:
  • For each attack in a city that wasn't one of the initial cities of the country the win gives 2 points and the defeat subtracts 1 point.
  • For each attack in a city that was one of the initial cities of the country the win gives 1 points and the defeat subtracts 1 point.
  • For each defend in a city that wasn't one of the initial cities of the country the win gives 2 points and the defeat subtracts 1 point.
  • For each defend in a city that was one of the initial cities of the country the win gives 1 point and the defeat subtracts 1 point.
Wars
Country Wars
The government of a country can declare a war to another country to claim a certain city. The declared war will take place the next day and lasts for 24 hours from 00:00 to 23:59 AoC time. This timeframe is the best option to keep the different timezone issue between all countries in the game out. The declared wars at the last day of the month will occur the second day of the next month. This means that there are no wars in election day. There is no limit in the amount of wars each country can participate every day however, each country can only claim one city from another country each day. Wars between allies are not permitted.
A country can declare a war to take the capital of another country only if the capital is the only city that currently belongs to the second country. If a country loses all its cities the government still exists as "secret government" and can only declare a war to take back the capital.
Each citizen from both sides can fight in the war. The citizen that starts the fight is the attacker and his opponent is the defender. Defender is selected by the system to be the closest citizen in level to the attacker. There are three group levels that citizens can be paired to each other (Group 1: Levels 1-10, Group 2: Levels 11-50, Group 3: Levels 51 and greater). Defender can prepare his defense at any time, there is no need to be online at the time of the attack. If there is no real defender, a bot defender will be used. Bot attributes are equal to 75% of the attacker attributes. Please note that attacking a bot defender does not have effect in elite stats.
Citizens from allies can also join the fight if they want. Once a citizen attacks an opponent for an ally country, automatically adds himself in the defense of the ally country for the particular war.
The country damage is the total damage that citizens make on its behalf. The country with the most damage wins the war and either takes the city or keep it. When a country fights to defend or reclaim the capital it gets a 50% bonus in its damage.
War facts:
  • For each attack a citizen uses 10 energy points.
  • The damage each citizens makes is the amount of health he deducts from his opponent.
  • Both opponents lose health points but, only the attacker actually earns damage for his missions, achievements and exprerience points. Exprerience points earned is the half of the damage done.
  • In order for a citizen to attack an opponent, his health must be more than 5%.
  • In order for a citizen to defend, his health must be more than 80%.
  • A citizen loses the fight when his health drops below 5%.
  • When an attacker takes an opponent out of the fight he has a chance for a random item or knowledge increase.
  • The opponent is selected by the system and it is the closer citizen in level to the attacker. The two opponents are paired for 15 minutes. This timeframe gives the ability to the defender to fight back.
  • If the attacker has food units he will automatically consume in low health to avoid losing the fight.
  • Attacker chooses his weapon the time of the attack. Defender's weapon is the best weapon in citizen's defensive weapons list.
  • Body armor issued until the defender loses a fight.
  • Attacker gains experience on each attack. Experience is equal to 50% of the damage done. When using a hydrogen bomb, the experience is fixed and equal to 20 per use.
The damage the attacker makes to the defender in each attack is calculated by the following formula: (10 + WA + SA + LA) / BA [+- 10%], where:
  • WA = attacker's weapon damage - defender's weapon damage. Minimum value of this factor is 0.
  • SA = (attacker's strength / 20) - (defender's strength / 20). Minimum value of this factor is 0.
  • LA = attacker's level - defender's level. Minimum value of this factor is 0 and maximum is 30.
  • BA = If using body armor 3, otherwise 1.
The damage the defender makes to the attacker in each attack is calculated by the following formula: (10 + WD + SD + LD) / BD [+- 10%], where:
  • WD = defender's weapon damage - attacker's weapon damage. Minimum value of this factor is 0.
  • SD = (defender's strength / 20) - (attacker's strength / 20). Minimum value of this factor is 0.
  • LD = defender's level - attacker's level. Minimum value of this factor is 0 and maximum is 30.
  • BD = 1.5.
The defender has a chance to totally avoid the attack. The chance to avoid an attack is X%, where X = (defender's knowledge - attacker's knowledge) / 50. Minimum value of X is 1.
A citizen can use a hydrogen bomb to attack. The hydrogen bomb makes a massive damage to 10 of the opponents, randomly selected. The damage the hydrogen bomb makes to each defender is calculated by the following formula: WH - LH [minimum is 200], where:
  • WH = 800.
  • LH = defender's level + (defender's strength / 50) + (defender's knowledge / 50).
If the opponent wears a vest in a hydrogen bomb attack, the bomb makes zero damage to this opponent but, destroys the vest.
Global War
Each citizen can enter Global War. Session lasts 24 hours. During this time the citizen can attack and will automatically defend on other citizen attacks. Global War is not connected to any country. The purpose of its existence is to have a war for citizens that wish to practice in war while their country does not have an active war and they do not want to fight for an ally.
War facts and damage calculation is the same as Country Wars. The only exception is that Hydrogen Bombs and Body Armor cannot be used in Global War.
Casino
Casino is a section of AgeOfCitizens that players can bet for fun and earn game prizes. It should not connected with gambling by any mean. Casino works with cards which are mere graphic values so that the casino can function. Chips are needed to participate in casino. Chips are supplied in the game for free or they can be purchased from AoC market. The chips are not recognized as money and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Maps
The world of AgeOfCitizens appears in the maps section. There as two map categories:
  • World map, showing all AgeOfCitizens countries with additional information.
  • Continent maps, showing all cities that exist in AgeOfCitizens with detailed information on each one.
AoC Support
In order to keep AgeOfCitizens alive, a lot of funds needed to keep the server up and continue improving the game. There are three ways to support AgeOfCitizens. There are some limitations though, we do not want AgeOfCitizens to be another Pay-To-Win game.
Purchase Gold
The only currency for sale is gold. There are a lot of purchase plans to meet everyone's needs. However, we don't want AgeOfCitizens to be a pay-to-win game. That's why we have set a limit of 250 gold units that a citizen can purchase each calendar month. If that limit is reached, this option will be disabled for the rest of the month.
